•Know
your professions well; the more you know a profession as a whole, the
better you will be when playing that profession in a team build.
•There are a number of different ways to combine professions, skills, and
attributes. Being familiar with not just your own profession but those who may be countering you, can give you that extra
edge in battle. Know the effects of each skill and how it works!
•Practice dodging projectiles. Some projectiles can come at you at different
speeds making them easier or harder to dodge. Dodging could help you avoid
taking big hits from skills like Lightning Orb and can also help you avoid
negative effects from skills such as Pin Down. Keeping an eye on the skills
your opponent is using will help you succeed at dodging even when your back
is turned.
•Test a character in as many different situations as possible to know the
strengths and weaknesses of that character.
•Understand your role within the team and concentrate on that role. Players
who try to do everything can easily spread themselves too thin and become
less effective.
•Most importantly: Help the team; look out for it before yourself.
•Skills cost
different amounts of energy to use; know how much they cost, and how much you have available.
•Know
the cast times of your skills and the best way to time them all. If you
are creating a spiker it is better to use skills with long casting times
first then follow up with short casting time skills.
•Before engaging a team in battle take the time to "tab/cycle" through their entire team. Knowing what your up against is always beneficial.
•If
the opportunity presents itself tag your opponent’s flag or relic to
return it back to its origin.
•Keep in mind that the User Interface is customizable. Take out unnecessary interface items; keep the interface clean and small so you can view more of the playing field. Set your interface so you can see everything at once. This will help your reaction time and cut down on mistakes. Enlarge the area where it shows what skills your opponent is using to get a better visual for interrupts.
For Monks enlarge your party window. Enlarging your compass will
help you keep a better eye on your opponents movements around the map.
•If forced to retreat from combat, keep your eyes open for terrain that can be used to block your foe's line of sight.
•Remember that your character is solid. If a
foe is charging towards your Monk, you can run into their path and block
them.
•When running away from an opponent, the attacker actually inflicts more damage. To retreat successfully, use skills that increase your run speed or help you evade or block attacks.
•Don’t
chase unnecessarily, often times your opponents will try to draw you into their team,
away from your healers, then they will turn their focus-fire onto you.
•Stick with the rest of your team; if you find yourself too far away you could be
easily taken out by your enemy.
•When playing a healing Monk, direct
heals are good for keeping Health up, while Enchantments such as Healing Seed or Healing Hands work well
for countering strong focus-fire. Save your big skills with long recharge times for when you are certain the enemy is making a
concentrated effort to kill one of your allies.
•Healers should try to keep their allies' Health as high as possible. Do not wait until
your ally is at low Health to provide healing, you might not be able to react quickly enough to a sudden
spike of focused damage.
•Casters, remember to use your wands for additional damage when
in-between casting spells, the constant damage adds up. Keep an eye out for spirit shackles you won't want to attack with your wand if this skill is on you, as it takes 5 energy from you each time you attack.
•Rangers
and casters with wands or other projectile attacks should try to get to high ground whenever possible
in order to increase their damage.
•If your opponent gains the high ground, try to get to the same level or cast area effects in
their area to make them scatter. Don't let them get the advantage on you.
•Ranged characters should keep close enough to
the target so that if the foe falls back, you are still in attack range but far enough so that targeting you is a nuisance.
•Stack your important Hexes and Enchantments to make it harder to remove them.
•Use area-of-effect skills when targets are grouped together to maximize its effectiveness.
•Disrupting enemy Energy supplies or skill recharge is often more effective than being able to deal out large amounts of damage.
•If you are using interrupt skills, try to get a sense of the casting speeds and importance of every spell so that you know when and what to interrupt.
•Use the arena to practice your timing for interruptions.
•Interrupting your opponents heal can be a fast way to take down your enemy.
•After killing an opponent, always keep an eye out for their teammates to attempt a resurrection. Be sure to alert your own team, you must interrupt it!
•Pay attention to your surroundings when resurrecting a fallen teammate. If resurrected with low health your teammate could easily be killed again and giving him more death penalty.
